If you want to change the default SharePoint 2013 Logo in a brand new SharePoint 2013 Site or Site Collection, it is actually rather easy!!
- Click on Site Settings
- Under the Look and Feel section, click on Title, description and logo
- Specify a Url path to the new Logo (I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a relative path to the SiteAssets folder)
