If you have ever worked with earlier releases of SharePoint such as SharePoint Server 2007, you may have heard of the Fabulous 40 or Fantastic 40 SharePoint Site Templates that Microsoft released: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12088
Unfortunately, when SharePoint 2010 and subsequently SharePoint 2013 were released, these templates were never updated and you can find a whole host of articles on the Internet where people are attempting to migrate these wonderful SharePoint Site Templates over to either SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2013.
It seems that a company has also released many of the Fab 40 Templates but many of them require purchase and are extraordinarily expensive: http://www.sharepointwebstore.com/
However, it seems ridiculous that Microsoft has not updated these templates themselves to support newer releases of SharePoint.
So, if you think that Microsoft should release an updated version of the Fabulous 40 SharePoint Site Templates, you should vote for this UserVoice item here: http://officespdev.uservoice.com/forums/224641-general/suggestions/7173569-bring-back-the-fab-40-templates
