Console Access for Windows Azure Virtual Machines

One of the major problems with hosting Virtual Machines in Windows Azure is that access is restricted to an RDP session.

Therefore, if something changes in the environment that prevents Windows from booting, you are basically stuck in limbo since you cannot see the underlying Console of the machine as you can if you were hosting the environment locally on VMWare vSphere, VMWare Workstation or Hyper-V.

It seems that the Windows Azure team is still working on a method for providing Console Access, but have not come up with a solution as of yet:  http://feedback.azure.com/forums/216843-virtual-machines/suggestions/3761826-virtual-machine-console-access

Of course, you can continue voting for the Feedback item and hopefully Microsoft will speed up the delivery of this much needed feature in an upcoming release update to Windows Azure.
